Arizona Diamondbacks Top 10 Prospects for 2012

1. RHP Trevor Bauer

Bauer was part of a dynamic duo of right-handers pitching at UCLA, before being selected third overall by the Diamondbacks in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft. He's got slightly unorthodox workout routines, including a long-toss program that may have scared a few teams. However, he outperformed former teammate and first overall pick RHP Gerrit Cole during their last season at UCLA, and he made it all the way up to Double-A Mobile during his brief pro debut after signing with the team.

2. LHP Tyler Skaggs

Skaggs was the prize of the July 2010 Dan Haren trade with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, but he was a relative unknown at the time of the trade. Well all that's changed in just a year and a half, as he posted an impressive 1.69 ERA in four starts after joining the Diamondbacks organization last summer. Skaggs really took a leap forward in 2011, reaching Double-A and posting a 2.96 ERA across 27 combined starts while walking just 49 batters while striking out 198 in 158.1 IP.

3. RHP Archie Bradley

Bradley was the Diamondbacks other first-round pick in 2011, seventh overall, and is a big power-armed high school pitcher.

4. 1B/3B Matt Davidson

5. 1B/3B Bobby Borchering
6. 3B Ryan Wheeler
