The Texas Rangers have announced that they have signed 16-year-old third baseman Juremi Profar, the younger brother of current top prospect SS Jurickson Profar, according to Baseball America's Ben Badler.
Like Jurickson, Juremi is another former Little League World Series standout from Curacao. No word on how much the Rangers signed him for yet. It will be interesting to watch Juremi progress through the Rangers minor league system. He's years away from possibly making a Major League impact, but most people had no idea who Jurickson Profar was when he signed, and now he's among the top prospects in the game, so this is another exciting day for the Rangers. According to Badler, Juremi is likely to make his pro debut in the Dominican Summer League next season.
